Shame
German: Scham
Common meaning:
A painful emotional state in which one feels exposed, wrong, or unworthy—often leading to withdrawal or the desire to disappear.
Clear meaning:
The motion of the self pulling out of view—not because something is wrong, but because separation is once again believed.
Shame only exists
where an inner judge says:
“This should not be seen.”
It arises when the image of self
conflicts with what is perceived—
and the gap between the two feels unbearable.
But structurally, shame is not a flaw.
It is the signal
that something is still being hidden
in order to survive a story.
True clarity feels no shame.
Not because everything is perfect—
but because there is nothing left
to divide.
Shame dissolves
where no one stands apart
to be wrong.
