Surrender, Devotion
German: Hingabe
Common meaning:
Devotion, surrender, offering oneself fully to something—often with love, trust, or resignation.
Clear meaning:
The complete ceasing of internal resistance—not because something is lost, but because there is no self left that needs to hold on.
Hingabe = toward + gift.
Ordinarily seen as sacrifice, submission, or deep offering.
But in structural clarity, it is not an action.
It is the absence of withholding.
Not: “I give myself away.”
But: “There is no longer a self apart from what is.”
True surrender is not letting go.
It is what remains
when there is nothing left to withhold.
