Explanation

German: Erklärung

Common meaning:
A description or reason offered to make something understandable
Clear meaning:
The translation of structure into language—not truth itself, but the attempt to shape immediacy into form.

Erklärung stems from klar (clear) and the prefix er- (completion) –
meaning: to make something clear.

But structurally, an explanation is not clarity—
it is movement toward clarity.

It is not wrong—
but it replaces direct experience
with interpretation
when the field cannot yet be felt directly.

Explanation is useful
only when it no longer replaces
but supports the felt truth.

Explanation is not realization—
it is the detour
through which clarity sometimes returns.
