Realization
German: Erkenntnis
Common meaning:
Understanding, realization, knowledge gained through thought or experience
Clear meaning:
The flash of recognition within the recognizer—not knowledge, but the end of separation between knower and known.
Erkenntnis comes from er- (completion, emergence) and kennen (to know intimately).
It is not something added.
It is what comes into view
when the effort to know falls away.
Realization is not the moment something becomes true—
it is the moment you remember
you had never been apart from it.
It’s not discovery.
It’s the return
of what was never gone.
Realization is not: “Now I know.”
It is:
“I am what I was looking at.”
